What's Causing Damage To My Hair? Part 2

Possible reasons could be:  thermal and physical damage, daily or frequent use of blow dryers, hot rollers, curling irons and flat irons can affect your hair's health and even singe your hair strands.Using combs or brushes with missing teeth & brushes that are too rough for your texture can cause mid-shaft damage. Chemical damage, overuse and over lapping of relaxers, curly perms, hair colors and hair lighteners. Chemical damaged hair feels brittle and often looks like straw. Prescription drugs on occasion have side effects that cause brittle hair and hair loss ( especially certain meds for blood pressure, thyroid, depression, rheumatoid arthritis and bipolar disorder). Environmental damage, UV rays from the sun can cause dryness & well water can make hair resistant to chemical services. Minerals from hard water can also strip the hair & give it a brittle appearance. Since repairing damged hair has to begin at the root, we'll need to discuss scalp damage also....stay tuned.  Here's a microscopic view of chemical damage.
