"Work Out Your Hair" (part 2)

[ We will now continue on to simple tips on protecting your hair during your workout, I thought is was important to take a short detour (post from May 20,2012) to address this stress issue a little further].

Perspiration is very drying to your hair and the main ingredient is sodium (salt), so keep your hair away from your skin until its dry.
1) What to do with your hair before exercising (walking, jogging, aerobics, zumba, cycling etc)? Protect your hair before you start perspiring whether its kinky, curly, relaxed, color treated, straight or  has hair extensions. For all textures it helps to wear a sweat band around your hairline & for relaxed hair or hair extensions either roll it on hair curlers or keep hair in a loose ponytail if its long enough. If you choose not to roll it, then try wrapping hair w/silk scarf, a jersey type fabric (or a breathable fabric of your choice) to absorb excess sweat if hair will be hanging straight. For natural hair that isn't twisted, braided or locked, then braid it to prevent additional kinks. your main goal is to keep your hair from touching your (sweaty) skin.  Join me next time to hear the good news!!.... you don't (necessarily) need to shampoo your hair after every workout. :)
