"Work Out Your Hair" part1

Exercising is great not only for your heart, skin & body, its good for your hair also. I mentioned in a earlier post reasons for scalp damage & remedy options (from the archives-March 7 and March 11, 2012 ) & again stress is a common reason for hair loss. When your body is in stress the blood vessels which supply blood to the scalp don't function properly. However, when you exercise your stress level decreases and your blood circulation is progressing. Another added benefit (from exercising) is  improved nourishment to your hair follicles & natural sebum (oil) is distributed evenly across the scalp, leading to healthier stronger hair & better hair growth. Remember your (drinking) water. Next post is simple tips on protecting your hair during your workout. Consistency = progress.

I'd like to share a informative article I read today, "Put Yourself Second" by (long time friend) Kara Davis, M.D.

  1. Good! Now I have another reason to get up and exercise. I'll tell folks, my hair needs to work out.
