What's the truth about shampoos?







Question: Why did you mention shampooing isn't needed after every workout (blog post May 30,2012)? Are shampoos drying to your hair?

Answer: Yes, shampoos can be very drying to your hair if you're not using the proper prescription. You want to avoid stripping your own natural oils.  If your hair is: usually oily, then try a deep cleansing & on occasion protein based shampoos ---usually dry or chemically treated, then try a hydrating, smoothing or sulfate free shampoos---natural textures curly thru kinky, then try smoothing, co-washing or sulfate free--- grey hair, then try a hydrating (&-refer to archive dated April 21, 2012)---for chlorine, perspiration or product  buildup try a clarifying shampoo occasionally.
