According to WebMD, Sweet potatoes are one of the top 10 foods for healthy hair. Sweet potatoes are a great source of the antioxidant beta carotene, which your body turns into vitamin A.  It also helps protect and produce the oils that sustain your scalp, and being low on vitamin A can even leave you with itchy, irksome dandruff.

So, since we're in the season of celebrating, we won't need to feel guilty about eating sweet potatoes at least.
Other options: Carrots, cantaloupe, mangoes, pumpkin, and apricots are all good sources of beta carotene.
